Strategic architectural models

Case Study: Australian National University

We worked closely with the ANU’s system teams to provide strategies that successfully demonstrated their opportunities for multiple, complex service systems.

What we did

  • Created architectural models of nine significant systems in the facilities and services functional area including easily consumable visualisations showing the business significance, integration points and data types used by each system.
  • Assessed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of each system making it easy to identify opportunities for cost and time efficiencies and data quality improvements.
  • Developed templates for other functional areas of the University that demonstrated what strategic architectural views could look like.

The result

ANU’s architecture team was able to easily and quickly demonstrate opportunities for improvement to a range of senior stakeholders.

“MXA Consulting analysed multiple systems within our Facilities and Services Division to produce both rigorous architectural models and visual presentations that were accessible to a general audience. They were responsive and easy to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again.”
